Yes it’s finally happened! Bill Bailey is to guest star in the Dr Who Christmas Special 2011. Production has started on the story which is set in war-torn England and sees The Doctor (Matt Smith) embarking on a magical and mysterious adventure with a young widow and her two children.
Bill appears along with Claire Skinner, Arabella Weir and Alexander Armstrong in the festive special.
The special, set during World War 2, sees Madge Arwell and her two children, Lily and Cyril, evacuated to a draughty old house in Dorset, where the caretaker is a mysterious young man in bow tie, and a big blue parcel is waiting for them under the tree. They are about to enter a magical new world and learn that a Time Lord never forgets his debts…
Tune in and tune up, for it’s your first chance to see Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra on your television screens. Featuring Anne Dudley and the BBC Concert Orchestra, this Saturday evening’s not-to-be-missed show promises to be a treat for the whole family.
“Wonderfully enjoyable…like driving a Rolls-Royce off-road” - Stephen Fry
Fifth Gear proves to Bill Bailey that chip fat is the fuel of the future, including an extraordinary improvised 80′s German techno song that manages to rhyme something with the term “chip fat”.
Tune into topical (not tropical) magazine programme, The One Show, tonight – BBC1 at 7pm and you will see Bill Bailey on the little couch they have in the studio.
