Desert Island Discs

In this modern age of mp3 and iTunes, the life of a castaway must be pretty cushy. With several thousand tracks available at the stroke of a tiny plastic wheel, the lonely island hours must positively fly by.

It hasn't always been so easy however, and this Sunday Bill will be imagining what desert island life would be like if you were able to take only 8 records (and without any playlist functionality). To hear his choices, tune in to Radio 4's Desert Island Discs at 11.15am, when he will be talking to Kirsty Young about some of his all-time favourite records, and the way they have affected his life.

The episode is repeated on Friday at 9am, and make sure you catch one of the broadcasts, because it won't be available on Listen Again.

Marc Forrester:

Just caught half of this on't radio, was kind of weird. Spent the first fifteen minutes driving along going "Is this.. Bill Bailey?"

Is a bugger that the Beeb doesn't run the Listen Again service for DID - did anyone record it? Will it be available through legitimate channels somehow? I mean, what do I pay my license fee for, anyway?

Oh... Right.

charlotte:

can anyone send me the playlist for it? x

Dan French:

Missed Desert Island Discs!
Could you please post a list of Bill's 8 song choices here? Next best thing - thanks a lot!

Rob:
