Tinselworm comes to London town!
Posted by Helper Worm on October 3rd, 2008
Following a sell-out arena tour of the UK in 2007 and a sell-out tour of New Zealand and Australia in 2008, Tinselworm returns to the UK for a run at The Gielgud Theatre, London from November 10th 2008, although with (it is assumed) at least some time off for him to spend some time with his nearest and dearest over the primary gifting period and auxiliary generosity zone.
As in any Bill Bailey show, the subject matter is broad ranging; tattoos, marketing, doorbells, Emo, creationism, post-war banking secrecy, travellers’ tales and the alternate reality that is Bill’s world – spun together with the sparkling thread of a seasonal invertebrate.
It has all the trademark Bailey elements; lyrical dexterity, tangential silliness and musical brilliance plus animation by award-winning film maker, Joe Magee, all of which combine to make this a verbal and visual treat.
This will be the last time you’ll be able to see this show before Bill puts it to bed.
UPDATE – 06/10/2008
Tickets are now on general sale and can be purchased from the box office on 0844 482 5130 or online from the Venue Booking System.

Having just witnessed the spectacle that is the tinsel worm tour on it’s odyssey down under. I thoroughly recommend the show. And through hanging around the stage door in the rain with a hopeful yet slightly melancholic look on my face I actually got to meet the man himself. Exciting for me! Less so for my work mates who are now sick of me telling the story of how I hugged a star of stage and screen.

Saw this gig last November (had front row seats at Wembley – thanks Bill) and have been listening to the Tinsel-cd ever since…
Have now bought front row seats for the Gielgud, and telling all my friends to go see.
This is the must-see of the year.
A perfect early Christmas prezzie!
Go go go!

My beau and I had a most enjoyable couple of hours being entertained by this ridiculous man in the CIA in Cardiff. Laughing out loud in an arena full of strangers is a great thing to do, if you’ve nothing better on offer on a saturday night… I particularly liked the split personalities appearing across the stage.
I will be going again, if Bill would like to see me there.

I went to see Bill in Melbourne recently and he rocked. My wife bought me tickets for fathers day and in her excitement bought me tickets really really really high up in the stalls right near the edge. She forgot my irrational fear of heights. I was sweating when the show began but Bill was so funny he made me forget my fear of heights for a couple of hours. THATS how good he is. Looking forward to the DVD release of TW.

One word – AMAZING!
Not only was he utterly hillarious, but the visual displays within the show were mind-blowing!
Unfortunately was not able to see him live, but the DVD had me laughing from start to finish!

Super fantastic! Serious urges to go and trip a jogger, and shout at traffic. So glad I got to see the Worm of Tinsel!
Oh, and: I’ve got Socks but I’m not Socratic. It’s a winner.

My girlfriend and I were at the Geilgud Theatre, 3rd row centre, on Saturday night and had a great time. Bill was in great form and absolotely hilarious.
If you haven’t seen the show yet, go and treat yourself. You won’t regret it.

I am going to see Bill in Tinselworm tonight at The Gielgud and it’s my birthday. Really looking forward to it. Have front row seats so shouldn’t have problem seeing my hero on stage!

We saw Bill in Ilfracombe when he was starting out on the Tinselworm journey, then again at The Eden Project, which was just a fantastic night. Bought the CD for my daughter and still laughing , time after time. You are a genius Bill, North Devon is lucky.

Bloody hilarious – went to see Bill last night at the Gielgud theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue in London. apart from a couple of gags I recognised from the stint he did on Prince Charles 60th Birthday evening, all the material was new and had me in stitches. A wonderful evening. Thanks Bill! Looking forward to the DVD.

My boyfriend and I went to see Tinselworm last night at the Gielgud theatre. I laughed so much, it put me on a high for the rest of the evening, and I couldn’t sleep for hours – He was fantastic. Although, perhaps it wasn’t a great idea to laugh so hard, with my broken rib! All the pain I’m in today is well worth it. Brilliant show!!

I was taken to see Bill last night for my 21st Birthday, I didn’t know I was going to see him until I saw the sign in which I quickly ran to the door and tried to lick the doorman in pure joy – he was amazing!
From everything to the new yorker from seattle … the barnacle worker who suddenly realised he had nothing to do with barnacles.. to brian the juggling shrew (in my mind)
Bill I love you, I will be your tinselworm!!! and I am nothing but a stone with no moss!

I watched Tinselworm on DVD about 6 times in a row. I adore the comedy…..but need to express my gratitude to Bill as he unwittingly created an amazing self help DVD. I was trying to stop smoking and bloody well struggled UNTIL “hey asda, I aint gonna be your bitch!” I had an epiphany “hey cigarettes, i aint gonna be your bitch” became my mantra (scaring a few sales shoppers) and its working…Bill has saved me about 160 of her Majesty’s finest pounds to date..and maybe a lung.
Muchos gracias Senior!

I saw the show on Thursday and I hugely enjoyed it. I couldn’t stop laughing. You are a brilliant and original comedian and a great musician too. Absolutely recommended.
