Just watching Bills amazing show that is his guide to the orchestra on BBC2, any plans to do this show again live or at least make this available on dvd/hddvd/cd/tapecassette or betamax. It is one of the best, amusing, feel good and positive cross-social expressions of orchestral music I have seen. Thanks for making a night in worth while, I want to show it too friends whether they want to see it or not. I am already adding buckles and locks to the sofas for the occassion. Keep up the excellent work, saw your troll tour stuff on tv as well and thought you were hilarious, pardon me that there is still some your work I haven’t witnessed.

Dear Bill,
You must record the Belgian Jazz version of the Dr Who theme, it’s sublime. I need this piece of music in my life!
Enjoyed every minute of it.
Fond regards, Lee.

The remarkable tour of the orchestra was truely remarkable. A tour that I didn’t want to end. Any chance of bringing it to York?

Wonderful stuff. Our two young boys thoroughly enjoyed the programme. All day they’re singing “..and the spiders sided with the insects, even though they are not insects”. Hope to see Bill back in Dublin at the Point(or 02 as they like it to be called) real soon.
May 11th, 2009 at 10:03 am
Absolutely loved this, wish I had caught all of it instead of only the second half!! Please release this on DVD – it is very watchable and my young’ uns would love it too, being orchestral instrument players, but were in bed when it was on!

Absolutely brilliant. Education with added fun. Hopefully it will be on DVD as I would love my grandson to enjoy the experience too.
Reminded me of our “Appreciation of Music” classes accompanied by the 12 inch copy of “An Introduction to the Orchestra” on the school’s wind-up gramaphone.
Encore Encore.

Pure genius! Bill Bailey has so many levels of talent. I saw this in a TV guide and thought it was going to be a documentury, completely unprepared for the wonder I was about to witness!
In case you missed it, the BBC have a handy service called iplayer where you can watch it again http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer

On a recent trip to London, I tuned into the program about halfway though. I can’t begin to tell you how remarkable and brilliant I found this experience with Bill Bailey!!!! It left me clamoring for more and to share it with all my friends, acquaintances, and family. Absolutely brilliant and thoroughly entertaining!!!! I would love to find out where I can find a DVD or recording of this program. It was very reminiscent of Victor Borge or Liberace but with an amazing entire philharmonic orchestra! I have never seen anything quite as amazing, brilliant, hilarious, and genius as Bill Bailey and his Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra! BRAVO!!!!!!!!

Dear Mr Bailey,
Please, please release this on DVD – it is fantastic! My son said he would never forget an augmented 4th – the whole programme was brilliant for the GCSE music and beyond, as well as being superb entertainment for the whole family.
Kindest regards

I trust you have not fully realise this yet. But, you performed “Insect Nation” in the Royal Albert Hall. And the Cockney version of William Tell.
Great show!!! Will buy DVD.
May 19th, 2009 at 9:02 pm
A fantastic funny and musically talented performance. My jaw ached for days after watching this live. “You can never skip the production companies title music on DVDs and you always hear it exactly the same. If only there was a full orchestra around so we could listen to the film title sequence in double time….. what a wonderful surprise!” – I can’t wait to hear that again!
May 26th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
What’s the name of the piece of music used for the Oboe/Bank bit, it’s been bugging me but I can’t find it anywhere!
Love all of your shows and I hope to see you live someday!
Kieran.

I was lucky enough to see this at the RAH, catching it on the BBC as well was brilliant. Has a definate K on my sky plus.
My 10 year has a whole new appreciation for the bassoon and I dread what he will bring home from music lessons when he goes to High School.
The only thing missing that I would have loved to hear was Love Song with a full string section, in my mind it sounds amazing.
Keep up the good work Bill,
Nicki

Hi, really enjoyed this, but please can someone tell me who “Jellyfish” is by and where I can find the piece of music? I thought it was lovely and would love to hear it again!
December 16th, 2009 at 11:54 pm
I wanted to buy the DVD but it’s the wrong kind for the USA so Bill, please bring it out for the USA fans. I loved the bit I saw on Graham Norton when you were on with Steven Fry. Please, we can hardly wait to see it!
Annie in the USA!

I love this DVD, but I really want to know what the music used for the jellyfish was?
