Update from Bill – May 2009
Posted by Bill on May 18th, 2009
Well firstly many thanks for all your kind words about the Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra, which was shown recently on BBC2. The plan is hopefully to put together a few dates in the Autumn and tour the show in the UK. The full-length version of the show will be released on DVD in November, all being well.
Looking forward to the Summer tour and revisiting some old haunts . I made my BBC2 series ‘Is it Bill Bailey?’ in Glasgow and during my time there got to know the city a bit better, and I loved it. Great curries..and friendly natives… And first time for me in Plymouth I think, bigging up the South Coast Massive..or something. So many places, so many tiny individual pots of Milk-Style Dairy Type Liquid…
Just going through my expenses, £4273.99 for Guinea Pig Anti-Flu BioDome, £723.48 for gold-plated Locust Grooming-Tongs, £7,348,003.19 for second Chameleon Home allowance in the Yemen..
I think you’ll find that’s all in order.
See you soon.

i think you forgot £790067.35 for that Swarovski diamond studded weasel collar… and £5067.77 for hair growth treatment that doesn’t seem to work.

Re: Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra.
First class performances all round (as expected) – thank you.
One question though – was the piece played for the Jellyfish “made-up” for the show, and/or is it available to buy? Thanks in advance.

Hello bill, hope this finds you well. Really enjoy all of your shows music, etc. I am from UK originally but now live and work in Sweden. My boss is from surrey and has been here 22 yrs, I have been here a mere 4 years. Anyway we both look at the you tube selection of stuff and just really wet ourselves with the old cockney classics and the “eye of the tiger” medley. The othe day we were driving out and about building stuff as we do when we had an idea that Queens “Killer Queen” would be a pefect song for the cockney tune. We were singing the dam thing all day in the style of the old ” ‘ave a banana” etc. If you ever do it get on You tube or somewhere ASAP. See what you think my ols son, by the way I am welsh. and no we don’t use wellies, you can’t kiss them then !!
Regards
Tony

The ‘Remarkable… Orchestra’ show was amazing. I stumbled upon it that Saturday night – in the opening seconds, luckily! – and was just transfixed for the hour. Why on earth did the BBC not promote it properly?!
Well done on a FAB programme.

Hi Bill,
Why are you not playing Liverpool? We’ve got great theatres and a fantastic Arena! We’re desperate to see you but we can’t get any tickets for Salford and Manchester as the Manc’s have bought them all.
Enjoy your tour!

Hi Bill, just come home from your Wednesday night show in Plymouth. Had a fantastic evening. So good to get an act of your statue down here – don’t get many! Really pleased to see the Remarkable Guide is coming out on DVD as have told everyone I know about it. “Is It Bill Bailey” was nearly shown again on Dave recently, but seemed to have been pulled at the last minute. I’d love to see it again or get it on DVD? Hope you enjoyed the show tonight and have a great time the rest of your tour.
Best wishes, Sarah x
